What will I do in counseling?
During the intake phone call, both you and Carol will begin to decide if Kairos will be a good fit for you. Every individual and situation is unique. In the first session, she will listen to your story and begin to help you determine what direction you want to take in counseling. Psychotherapy or counseling is a collaborative effort between you and the therapist. In each session you will explore your thoughts, your emotions, and your life, past and present, in a safe and confidential environment..

No hard and fast rules determine the number of appointments, as each person and situation is unique. Does Kairos take Insurance?
Kairos is a credentialed provider for Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and United Behavioral Health Care (now Optum) insurances. Other insurance companies may accept Kairos as an out of network provider. Some Health Savings Accounts will accept Kairos. See forms on "getting started" page via the sliding scale application for questions to ask your insurance company. Carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of using insurance for therapy and mental health concerns. At your first visit, confidentially and required exceptions to confidentiality are discussed. Depending upon your insurance plan, you may ask whether or not out of network benefits are provided, in which you may receive some reimbursement after meeting their requirements such as a deductible amount. Kairos will provide you with the necessary paperwork to file with insurance companies upon request.
